Since Thursday, September 29th the official Europe Calling! autograph book can be signed. The King’s Commissioner Theo Bovens and the Mayor of Maastricht, Annemarie Penn-te Strake were the first to sign the book. “As a token of our respect, we would like to give those who participate in the dialogue about Europe the opportunity to sign this book”, says the King’s Commissioner Bovens.
Twenty-five years after the signing of the Maastricht Treaty – the birth certificate of the European Union – Limburg and its capital Maastricht are the ideal place to organise a programme of events to peer into the past and look ahead into the future. The ‘Europe Calling! Maastricht Treaty 25th Anniversary’programme ensures that Maastricht and Limburg are active participants in the dialogue about Europe. “A series of conferences, festivals and meetings will help us reflect on the Europe we know today and think about the Europe of tomorrow”, as written in the foreword by the King’s Commissioner and the mayor of Maastricht Annemarie Penn-te Strake. These events will once more turn Maastricht, and especially the Provincial Government building, into a workshop for Europe that is open to all, whether young or old, pro or contra.
The autograph book will be used in all Europe Calling! meetings that will take place at the Provincial Government building.
